Co-Chair of Children and Youth Planning Table in KW

Over the past 7 years I have been a supportive community based member of the Children and Youth Planning Table in waterloo Region. More recently I was supporting efforts to create an updated Strategic Plan that were being led by the wonderful Rebecca Sutherns. I learned that the role for Community Co-Chair was opening up and hadn’t really considered myself for it. Through some discussion and introspection it seemed more and more to be an excellent fit and equally importantly, the timing was right. I am very excited to support at this time and in this way. The timeframe is 4 years and it is a volunteer role. The voluntary aspect aligns to my current core values of Supporting groups most in need, and doubling down on supporting the region where I live. It also indirectly supports my value of “family First’ because this is the region where live learn and grow, and every time I’m working closer to home I’m also not leaving the family for days at a time.

You can read the news release here which also celebrates the wonderful Sonia Dennis, CEO of FACS in KW who was sitting in the role for a short period of time while a new plan was being generated.
